Brenda
grew up watching her grandmother make beautiful quilts and
had always aspired to create one herself. After moving to
Northern Ontario and taking a break from her Accounting
career, Brenda began quilting in 1994. She fell in love
with the fabrics and designs, and began teaching others to
quilt in 1998 after returning to Toronto. Brenda soon began
writing patterns for the quilt store she worked in.
Brenda enjoys
experimenting and creating new, more accurate ways to
complete a task. Having always worked with machines, she
tries to find new ways to utilize all the amazing features
available today. Brenda has taught machine education
classes for over 13 years where she is always challenged to
create something new and exciting to share with other
sewers.
Trunk shows
and guest teaching at a variety of Quilting Stores and
Guilds is one of Brenda’s favorite things to do. Sharing
the love of quilting, machine embroidery and inspiring other
sewers are wonderful ways to spend a day or evening.
Brenda is
currently a finalist, and only Canadian, in the McCall’s
Quilting Quilt Design Star Contest. She was the winner of
Challenge 2! One Patch at a Time Designs was created so
Brenda could share her passion for quilting with quilters
around the world.
